Do you want to learn about the Komodo dragon? If you said no, well too bad, because this whole report is about them.

Komodo dragons look for good hiding spots to lay their eggs. They like to lay them between rocks and in holes; they dig with their sharp slaws. Some eggs become prey of other animals. The eggs are usually 82 inside. Some eggs are so big that they are twice the size of a chicken egg. It takes eight months for them to hatch. A Komodo dragon has to be at least six years old to lay its' eggs. In June or July the eggs hatch. I think Komodo dragons are pretty good-looking after they come out of that egg.

The Komodo dragon is also the largest living reptile. It's five meters long (male 10 feet). That's bigger than a compact car! Females are 9 ? feet long. It can weigh up to 126-220 kilograms (300 pounds). I think that the best thing about Komodo dragons is their razor sharp teeth! Their rough skin is grayish brown, not to mention their big and heavy tail! They can be camouflaged in some spots of their habitat. Komodo dragons look really cool!

The Komodo dragon eats anything it can catch. Its' personal favorites are pigs, deer, and monkeys. They usually ambush their prey. This huge meat-eater waits for its' prey up close. Sometimes, if it can't find food, it scavenges on beaches. Little (baby) Komodo dragons eat birds and bugs. The Komodo dragon poisons anything that touches its' mouth; and if anything does, it dies within three days. That tells you that Komodo dragons are pretty dangerous.

The Komodo dragon lives on islands called Flores, Rintja, and Padar, which are in the ocean. It is the top-rated predator on those islands. There are some small mountains on Flores. It mostly has hills and huge, gigantic rain forests that Komodo dragons love to hunt for monkeys in. That doesn't mean that there aren't any grassy plains on Padar, Rintja, and Flores. I like the way Komodo dragons live in their habitat.

That's not all about a Komodo dragon's life. There's more. They're also good runners and climbers. Although Komodo dragons sound cool, they can also be considered as pests (that is very sad to me). But the good thing is that it is illegal to kill and trade Komodo dragon skins. They're an endangered species. These carnivores were discovered in 1920. They're related to the monitor lizard (class: reptila). That tells your brain that you can never, ever learn enough about the amazing Komodo dragon.

I bet you say yes now. Well, I do at least. I hope you learned a bunch of stuff. Komodo dragons are pretty cool!
