Three

Dogs

Once upon a time in a far away forest there lived three dogs in their doghouse. There was a daddy dog named Bentley, a mama dog named Rosie, and a little dog, named Shiloh.

One day they decided to take an early morning walk, and take their breakfast along with them. Then they could hike up Big Dog Mountain and come back right in time for lunch.

While Bentley and Shiloh were getting ready for the hike, Rosie was getting their breakfast ready to take along. She also put their lunch out on the table so they could come in from their long hike and have lunch right away.

A little while later the three dogs set off on their long hike, not knowing that their was a cat sitting in a tree right above the kitchen window watching to make sure they were gone before he jumped through it.

Puss (the cat) was a well known burglar throughout all of the dog�fs forest.

�gWhat dummies, they know I�fm around why on earth would they leave their window open?�h Puss questioned himself, �g Oh well, I�fll remember to thank them later,�h he chuckled to himself. Then he jumped right through the window.

Puss looked around. He saw a perfectly set table with bowls of Fruit Loops.�gMaybe I�fll come back for a snack later,�h with a smile on his face, for Fruit Loops were his favorite snack. �gBut, I�fll look for their personal items, and treasures first,�h he exclaimed with glee.

He then moved around exploring the house, making sure he did not disturb any items he was taking.

Once he was done scouring the house for the items he thought valuable he

returned to the kitchen for his �gsnack�h. He wanted to make himself as comfortable as possible so he dragged in the lazy boy and put it in front of the table so he could reach all three bowls.

He tried the first and biggest bowl that was set for Daddy Dog, and spat it out all over the spotless kitchen, �gThese Fruit Loops are to soggy!�h he yelled in anger.

So he tried the next biggest bowl set for Rosie and spit it back in to the bowl, �g These Fruit Loops are way too stale!�h he yowled.

Not giving up yet he tried the last bowl, �gThese are the best Fruit Loops I have ever eaten. In fact these Fruit Loops were so good he searched the kitchen for more. When he looked in the cupboard he found that the whole thing was filled with Fruit Loops! �gYeah�h he yelled and ate all the boxes. By this time he was fatter than fat and needed to go sleep it off.

�gNext to find their beds�h Puss yawned lazily, and dragged himself up the stairs, and into the three dogs bedrooms. He took a running start for Bentley�fs bed and screamed in pain when he jumped on it, �gThis bed is way too hard.�h Puss thought he had literally jumped on a block of cement the bed was so hard.

Next he tried Mama Dog�fs bed, but with a little more caution this time. When puss lay on the bed he sank so far down that the bottom of the mattress was two inches from the floor. �gThis bed is way too soft,�h he whispered murderously.

When he finally got out of Rosie�fs bed he jumped again on to Shiloh�fs bed and it was so comfortable he fell asleep immediately.

The dog family was halfway up Big Dog Mountain when Bentley realized he had left the kitchen window open to any robber who might want to just hop in through it and steal their personal belongings.

Bentley sat down not believing he had done such a thing. �g What�fs the matter?�h Rosie yelled from the top where she was watching Shiloh intently as he got closer to the edge of the cliff with interest. �gShiloh get away from there,�h Rosie yelled at her son who was literally over the edge. When Shiloh got down Bentley yelled at his wife and son �gCome on, I left the kitchen window open and you know Puss the burglar has been spotted around here.�h The three dogs took off in a sprint for their house.

The dogs arrived at their house 45 minutes later and opened their door to see sprayed milk all over their kitchen and Shiloh cried, �gThe cat ate all my Fruit Loops and every other box we had in the house!�h this made Bentley very angry for everybody knew that Fruit Loops were very hard to get and his son had wanted them very bad. He howled with anger, but Puss was in such a deep sleep he only turned on to his belly at the sound of Bentley�fs howl.

Bentley ran upstairs to find Puss lying in Shiloh�fs bed. He called Rosie and they both started yelping and charging at the cat. This time puss woke up and found that he was being charged by two huge dogs and was frozen with fear. A second later he came to his senses and jumped out the bedroom window and was never heard from the three dogs woods again.
