Visiting Our Farm
By Brooke

Let's go on an adventure to the Walter's farm. We live in a house on a white and red farm. Our family has sixty cows, sixty cats and thirty-five calves in the barn.

We love living on a farm in Sarona, Wisconsin. The cats go to the vegetable stand with us in the summer. We sell produce from our gardens by the road in July and August. Here are some of our cats' names: TJ, D-12, Orange, JT, Moo-moo, Witch (who was born with brain damage), and Spike (who was born with a knob on his head). The cats are very friendly but some are shy. We have one cat that lives in our woods.

In the summer our cats really like to visit with people at our vegetable stand. We have a beautiful stand and the cats and customers love it. During the July and August we sell produce when it is ripe and ready to use. People love stopping at our stand as we have delicious produce. We do very well at our farm and our vegetable stand.

My farm is very old. The farm we live on now used to belong to my grandpa. My grandpa helps on the farm almost every day. When my grandpa lived on the farm, my dad helped him. Now my dad works on the farm and my grandpa helps him. All of us miss our farm and the barn when we go to stay at KOA and 4-H camp.

In the summer we make round bales, square bales, hay bales, and other things. We do it night and day and after that we pick rocks. Sometimes it can be a pain or sometimes it can be fun. It is fun when I get to drive the tractor.

We also take pigs to the Barron County Fair. My brothers sold their pigs last year. This year is going to be my first year taking a pig to the fair. I hope I can sell my pig at the fair. We train our pigs by giving them kisses and jellybeans.

We all love living on a farm in Sarona, Wisconsin. The Walters Adventure is now completed. The entire Walters' family hopes you enjoyed learning about their farm and family.
