By Josh Deep, deep in the woods, A large hawk emerges from a giant spruce tree. It sails through the air and spots movement. It tracks the movement hardly making a sound, And then glides lower over a large grassy plain. Then it lunges into the tall brown grass. Like rods of gold. Suddenly a loud scream is heard- Then the large hawk carries a dead pheasant In its large curved black shiny talons Its eye like a bubble of glass, Alert for any coyotes out waiting to steal its capture. It arrives back at the tree And drops its food on a large thick branch. The it rips its food open
And begins to eat it with its large knife-like yellow beak.
