The Broken Ladder By Adam

" Ah-h-h-h-!"  thump.
" Are you ok, Boomer?"  Bob asked.
" Yes, I am,"  I said.
" You took a nasty fall. It looks like the ladder is broken,"  said Bob.
" No really, when did you figure that out?"  asked Bill.
" Hey!"  said Bob.
" Stop it you two,"  I commanded.
" He started it,"  said Bob.
" I don't care who started it, I'll finish it!"  I exclaimed.
" Well anyways, I guess we have to find some wood and fix the ladder,"  Bart said.
" Come on! Let's get our bikes and head for Boomer's house!"  exclaimed Bill.
" No really, when did you figure that out?"  asked Bob.
" Now don't start that again,"  I said.
" Come on!"
After a brief ride, we arrived at my house. My dad is a carpenter so we have lots of wood.
Hi mom,"  I said.
Hi Mrs. Hanson,"  Bob said.
Hi Mrs. Hanson,"  Bill said.
Hi Mrs. Hanson,"  Bart said.
" How are you boys doing?"  she questioned. " Good!"  we all said.
" Mom, we're going to the work shop, ok?"  I asked.
" Well…."  She thought.
" Mom,"  I said.
" Oh fine,"  she answered.
" Come on guys,"  I said.
We walked out the back door to the workshop. While we were walking, Bart exclaimed, " Hi Max!"
Max is my dog, and Bart loves him. When we reached the workshop, Bill said, " That's weird, where did all of the wood go?"
" I think Boomer's dad took it for one of his projects,"  said Bob.
Right then Bill said, " No real."
" Don't you even think about it,"  I said, cutting him off.
" Yeah-h,"  Bob remarked.
" Hey! That goes for you too, Mr. Smarty Pants. Anyways, let's go ask my mom for some money so that we can go to Menards and get a 2 by 4. We could fix that whole ladder. Ok?"  I said.
" Ok,"  they all said.
When we reached the house I asked, " Mommy, may we have some money to get a piece of wood for our tree fort?"
" No,"  she replied.
" Hmmm,"  we all thought.
" I've got an idea,"  said Bart, " let's go break open Boomer's piggy bank. There's bound to be money in that big piggy!"
" Ok,"  they all said.
By the time I got there they had picked the lock (which is a big Master lock) and gone past me with 40 bucks.
" Bye Mrs. Hanson,"  Bart said
" Bye Mrs. Hanson,"  Bill said
" Bye Mrs. Hansin,"  Bob said
" Bye Mommy,"  I said.
" Hurry up Bob,"  said Bill.
" Quit your yapping, this is a big hill,"  Bob said
" Bob, we're going down hill,"  Bill said.
" So, it's still a big hill,"  Bob said.
When we reached Menards, we stuck to our business and we were out in a few minutes. On the way out, Bart spotted an ice cream stand.
" Hey you guys, we have some extra money, and there's an ice cream stand right there. How about it?"  asked Bart.
" What about it?"  we said.
" Ahhh come on guys,"  said Bart.
" No!"  we said.
" Come on, we're almost to the tree fort,"  said Bill. When we got there I said, " Ok guys, here's the plan. Bill, you saw the pieces for the ladder. Bob, you nail them to the tree to make the ladder. Bart and I will supervise, ok?"  I said. " On three."
" Chirp, chirp,"  whispered Bill.
" Come on,"  I said.
" No!"  they exclaimed.
" Fine, be that way,"  I said.
After that, in no time at all, the ladder was fixed and we were happy. Snap! " Ahhh!"  cried Bart.
Well, there goes our railing, but anyways the lesson I learned is to get the best quality wood, go to Menards.
