The Cumberland Public Library primarily serves the residents of Cumberland and the surrounding area as well as the seasonal visitors. It endeavers to ensure to all the people the freedom to read and to freely choose from available sources of information and knowledge. As a principle source of information in the Cumberland community, the library shall endeavor to provide free access to resources and informational material. The library is a member of Barron County Library Service (BCLS), Bi-County Library and Information Consortium (BCLIC), and the Indianhead Federated Library System (IFLS).

Cumberland Public Library is a member of the Bi-county Library & Information Consortium. (BCLIC)
BCLIC is a consortium of six public libraries in Barron and Rusk Counties (Wisconsin), and the Barron County Library Service.
