Every rural school in the county used the
library in 1943. The county service increased so much that a
part-time worker, Mrs. Ruth Wieber, was hired to help with the
county sets. |

| Notes: |
At the November meeting of the county board,
Mrs. Wieber asked for an increase of $500.00 in appropriation
to be used in buying books for use in county schools. The Finance
Committee agreed to do this if the city would also add $500.00.
The city council approved of this, so the county appropriation
was raised to $2,000.00 and the city to $3,800.00 for the coming
year. |

Mrs. Doris Clark resigned November first and
Miss Stella Anderson took her place as assistant. During the
year the library collected magazines and books and sent them
to Red Cross headquarters for use in the hospitals. The library
was also used as the collection center for the used clothes
drive. |
